Everyday Superheroes…

Dear Friends of Baumhaus,

Our regular Community Night and all other public events are still on pause because of Corona. However, we’re back with two new projects! We’re inviting all of you to get back in touch, exchange ideas and collaborate with us on those projects…

One project is “Werkstatt LMP”. As a part of the city’s plan to transform the local food system, they want to build a network of local food hubs –  in cooperation with us. We’re building up a Best-Practice-Neighborhood!  It’s an exciting project and at the same time it helps to finance the Baumhaus for now.

Also, there is now a Call for Participation for our project Rise of the Evengers, which also will be the theme of this year’s (mostly online) Emergent Berlin Festival in November.

We hope you’re all well! Let us know if you want to help or have a project that we could connect with ours…

Flow is back! – (Outdoor Edition) – a special musical meditation series

We are back with our popular FLOW active meditation sessions…
Flow :: Special I.G.O. Sessions (last Wednesday of each month) (Outdoors for Corona safety) We meet at Baumhaus but do the session in the back yard of our building.

Flow is a state of being… an experience when you allow yourself to be 100% fully engaged in the present moment in a feedback loop between clarity and satisfaction. It is an undeniable sensation where things seem to be more effortless, pleasurable, in sync, and you can easily sense a connection with something greater than yourself; this is what we will create:
 • a connected and mindful meditation where it is possible to blissfully surf the cutting edge of the present moment together…
 • a game where it’s possible to feel excited and calm in the same moment, and everyone can win as much as they like…
Program:
19:00 – Doors open, meet and greet
19:45 – Head to the back yard of Panke e.V.
Introduction, warm up & first jams (planting seeds)
 20:30 – Break
20:45 – Second round of jams (human sequencer game + other fun stuff)
 21:30 – Closing & feedback
+ TBD – poets, singers, instrumentalists etc. send mail to info@baumhausberlin.de to reserve a guest spot
Scott Bolden, co-founder of Das Baumhaus Berlin will share some very easy, practical and effective methods developed during the last 3 years of facilitating the “Improvisational Groove Orchestra” (I.G.O.) improv vocal jam sessions. Within 20 minutes participants learn to use the common sound space to create resonance in the form of improvisational music where it is quite common to experience some real flow moments…
It is very easy to participate, no musical talent or training is required so anyone is welcome to join. Most of the session is done with eyes closed to avoid visual distractions and keep focus on the co-created sound space. During these sessions we will also have special guest instrumental musicians, poets, writers and beat-boxers etc… If you would like to be a special guest, please send us a message.

Here are some recording samples from past sessions…

*Pay-as-you-feel €8 – €15 :: We ask our guests to consider: • their personal budget • the value of their experiences in the Baumhaus • the value of supporting the Baumhaus so that we can continue facilitating these and various other types of experiences
** Bring snacks to share, we have bio drinks for sale or you can bring your own!

BC/AC – Before Corona / After Corona

BC/AC – Before Corona / After Corona

Our last events before the big shut down included: several Community Networking Nights, various talks and workshops, meetings from our Baumhaus App Team, several sustainable food Kollektiv sessions and some collaborative design/building sessions.

After the shut down we took some time to meditate on the small things in life as well as start working on our new our new podcast series, “The Corona QuaranTimes”. Have a listen to our first episode, “Slow Down To Catch Up” while checking out the pics…

Open Call for Tech Help – Volunteers to help with the Baumhaus App

1 android developer
1 IOS developer
1 front end developer

About 6 months ago we started developing a free App for the people in our network to take advantage of some Baumhaus systems without being in the physical Baumhaus space, like our ‘open greeting zone’ or our ‘needs and resources’ board, plus a few other nice side features.

If you would like to join our team then send us a message to info@baumhausberlin.de

Some Creative Expression In The Moment…

I was doing a bit of vocal meditation today and it manifested itself into an improvisational “Corona Blues Sky Holi-Daze” moment…

Stay safe, smart and supportive,
Scott

p.s. there is beauty in the little things growing on all around…
